A delicious simple cake prepared from rice in cooking pot. Masa (Hausa Masa) is a popular meal in the Northern Region of Nigeria and it is often refered to as sinasir or Waina.

Ingredients for Sinasir/Waina Recipe

  • 3 cup Rice
  • 3 tablespoon Heaped Precooked Rice
  • 2 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 4 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Water to proof the Yeast
  • As required Vegetable Oil
  • pinch A Salt

Directions: Sinasir/waina Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Add rice in a bowl and add water to completely merge in water

step 2

  • STEP 2.Leave the rice to soak for 6-8 hours or overnight

step 3

  • STEP 3.Rinse the rise the next day

step 4

  • STEP 4.Now blend the soaked rice with pre cooked rice

step 5

  • STEP 5.Transfer the bleand rice paste into a bowl and add sugar,salt to it

step 6

  • STEP 6.In a bowl add warm water and stir it

step 7

  • STEP 7.Now pour the proof yeast into the rice mixture

step 8

  • STEP 8.Mix all the ingredients well.

  • STEP 1. In a cooking pot add oil & heat it.

step 10

  • STEP 1. Now add the batter to the pot

step 11

  • STEP 1.Once bubble appears at the surface and the cake looks solidify then flip it.

step 12

  • STEP 1.cook it for 2-3 mins and then take it out.

step 13

  • STEP 1.Serve with honey or maple.
