Ingredients for Simple Rice Pilaf Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 2 cup Rice
  • 4 cup Chicken Broth
  • As required Salt

Directions: Simple Rice Pilaf Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1. place deep vessel on medium to high heat and add 2 tsp oil, 1tbsp minced garlic and saute for 15 seconds til the aroma of garlic comes through.

step 2

  • STEP 1. then add 1 small onion finely chopped and cook for 3 minutes till the onion turns translucent.

step 3

  • STEP 1. next add 1 medium tomato chopped and cook for 3 minutes until soft.

step 4

  • STEP 1.then add 2 cups of rice and stir for 1 minute.

step 5

  • STEP 1.to this add 4 cups of chicken broth, or plain water, or a combination of both.

step 6

  • STEP 1.mix well. Taste for salt and season accordingly.

step 7

  • STEP 1. turn the heat to high and bring to a boil or 2 minutes.

step 8

  • STEP 1.reduce the heat to medium and cook for 5 to 7 minutes stirring frequently.

step 9

  • STEP 1. when water bubbles to below the surface of the rice, stir occasionally.

step 10

  • STEP 1. then cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes. fluff the pilaf with a spoon.
