  • STEP 1.Pressure cook lentils with water until soft and mushy.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped tomatoes, tamarind pulp, ginger paste, and rasam powder.
  • STEP 4.Add water, salt, and cooked lentils. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or as a soup.

Cooking Tips

  • You can adjust the spiciness by adding more or less rasam powder.
  • For a tangier taste, add more tamarind pulp.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more water.
