Ingredients for Sihi Kottu Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Peeled and cubed carrot
  • 1/2 cup Ash gourd
  • 1/2 cup Chow chow
  • 1/2 cup Cubed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Chopped beans
  • 1/2 cup Moong dal
  • 1/2 cup White chana
  • 2 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Grated jaggery
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 cup Water
  • 3 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Urad dal
  • 1 tablespoon Chana dal
  • 1 tablespoon Asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon Black pepper
  • 6 No.s Dry red chillies
  • 5 tablespoon Fresh grated coconut
  • As required To season
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard seeds
  • 3 tablespoon Roasted peanuts
  • 5 No.s Curry leaves

Directions: Sihi Kottu Recipe

  • STEP 1.Fry the chow chow, potatoes, beans, carrots, ash gourd, beans, moong dal, chana, salt, jaggery, turmeric powder in ghee until golden color and grind to a fine paste with little water.
  • STEP 2.Heat a pan, keep on medium flame. Add ghee and all the remaining ingredients except coconut. Fry for 2 minutes. Switch off the stove. Transfer contents to a plate. Cool. Blend to a fine paste with little water.
  • STEP 3.Heat a pan. Add the water. When the water boils add the washed broken moong dal.
  • STEP 4.The dal is cooked. Add the vegetables and turmeric powder. Once vegetables are cooked add the salt and jaggery. Mix gently.
  • STEP 5.Add ground paste and cook on sim flame. Stir. Add the cooked white chana and mix. Cook on sim flame for 5 mins. Switch off and serve hot.
