Ingredients for Sichuan Spicy Chili Beef Hot Pot Recipe

  • 300 gram Beef fillet thinly sliced
  • 1/2 No.s Chinese cabbage
  • 6-8 No.s Dried red chillies roughly chopped
  • 1/2 Ginger finely chopped cm
  • 4-6 Garlic finely chopped cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Red peppercorns
  • 2 No.s Spring onions roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking wine
  • 1 Egg white Nos
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Spicy chili bean sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chicken powder
  • As required Salt

Directions: Sichuan Spicy Chili Beef Hot Pot Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add 300 gm thinly sliced beef fillet, 1 egg white, ½ tbsp cornflour, 1 tbsp cooking wine and mix the ingredients together to coat the beef well.

  • STEP 2.Then add 1 tbsp of oil and mix again.

  • STEP 3.Keep aside to marinate for 20 minutes.

  • STEP 4.Cut the cabbage stems into bite size pieces and tear the leaves into bigger pieces.

  • STEP 5.In a wok heat 1 tbsp oil, add 1 tsp red peppercorns, 6 to 8 roughly chopped dried red chillies and fry for 2 minutes on low heat.

  • STEP 6.Then remove from the pan and grind the chillies and peppercorns to a coarse mixture.

  • STEP 7.In the same wok heat another 1 tbsp oil, add ½ cm finely chopped ginger, 2 roughly chopped spring onions, 2 tbsp spicy bean sauce and stir fry for 3 minutes.

  • STEP 8.Then add 1 tbsp soy sauce and stir.

  • STEP 17.Next add 500 ml boiled water and bring to a boil.

  • STEP 18.Add the chopped cabbage and continue to boil for 2 minutes.

  • STEP 19.Then remove the cabbage from the wok and transfer it to a big bowl.

  • STEP 20.Add the marinated beef into the wok and wait for 1 minute before stirring.

  • STEP 21.Then stir to separate the pieces, and boil for 4 minutes stirring .

  • STEP 22.Add salt to taste and1 tbsp chicken powder and stir.

  • STEP 23.Transfer to the bowl with the cabbage leaves.

  • STEP 24.Add the coarsely ground pepper mixture, 4 to 6 finely chopped cloves of garlic and serve.
