Shwe Yin Aye is a Dessert extensively famous in the streets of Myanmar, especially in Yangon. It a cool and refreshing dessert. Shwe yin aye is a traditional Burmese cold dessert, meaning golden heart cooler, hinting at its refreshing nature. Sweet, creamy, and rich, this specialty is made by combining steamed sticky rice, sago or tapioca pearls, tapioca sticks, cendol jelly noodles (often flavored with pandan), agar-agar powder, sugar syrup, and chilled coconut milk.

  • 1 cup Sticky rice
  • As required Agar Agar powder
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • As required Salt
  • 4 tablespoon Sugar
  • As required Tapioca Pearl
  • stick Tapioca
  • As required Sliced bread
  • As required Maple syrup
  • As required Coconut milk

Directions: Shwe Yin Aye Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take the bread slice and cut the outer layer and cut them into small square pieces.

  • STEP 2.Stick rice

  • STEP 3.In a saucepan, boil and add water as required.

  • STEP 4.As it comes to a boil add the sticky and let it cook until the rice absorbs the water.

  • STEP 5.The ratio of water and sticky rice should be 1.251 respectively.

  • STEP 6.Coconut milk jelly

  • STEP 7.In a saucepan add 1 pack of agar-agar powder, 1cup salt, and 1tsp salt.

  • STEP 8.Stir all the ingredients at medium flame. And then add 2 cups of water and stir them well.

  • STEP 9.Once it comes to a boil add ½ cup coconut milk, stir them and let it boil for 10mins.

step 10

  • STEP 10.Take it out in a flat container and let it sit at room temperature.
