  • 0.67 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 brown onion
  • 3 dried Shiitake mushroom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger root, grated
  • 3 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1.50 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sake
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • As required pepper
  • 12-15 Shumai wrappers
  • 12-15 green peas
  • 2-3 leaves of lettuce or nappa cabbage
  • As required Vinegar Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • As required Japanese yellow mustard

How to Make Shumai Recipe

STEP 01

1- soak the mushroom and squeeze the excess water, chop them and brown onions

STEP 02

2-combine pork, onions,cornstrach,mushroom and all other seasonings in a bowl , mix well.

STEP 03

3- take shumai wrappers and wrap the mixture , top with green peas on each of them

STEP 04

1- in a steamer lay the lettuce leaves flat and place the shumai over it

STEP 05

2- cook in a steamer for 10mins

STEP 06

3-mix soy sauce and vinegar and serve with mustard
