  • 125 gram Fish
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Paste
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Oil
  • 1/2 Onions, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Slit
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Water As Required
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Clean and wash the fish thoroughly.
  • STEP 2.In a bowl, mix together mustard paste, turmeric powder, and salt to make a marinade.
  • STEP 3.Coat the fish with the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • STEP 4.Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry the fish until golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
  • STEP 5.In the same pan, add more mustard oil if needed and sauté onions until golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and spices. Cook until the raw smell disappears.
  • STEP 7.Add the remaining mustard paste and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 8.Add water and bring the gravy to a boil. Simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 9.Add the fried fish to the gravy and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  • STEP 10.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • Use fresh and good quality fish for the best taste and texture.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less green chilies.
  • Let the fish marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
