Sheer Khurma" is a Farsi word where sheer means milk and Khurma means dates. It is a Persian origin dish which in its ancient form used to be a kind of dry fruit milk in which seviyan were added on a later stage. It is mainly a Mughal sweet known as Sheer korma which is a dessert of vermacelli pudding made during the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

Ingredients for Sheer Khurma Recipe

  • 1/2 tablespoon clarified butter/ghee
  • 0.17 tablespoon Chironji
  • 0.17 tablespoon chopped pista
  • 0.17 tablespoon chopped almonds
  • 0.17 tablespoon chopped walnuts
  • 0.83-1.17 No.s chopped dates
  • 0.17 liter full fat milk
  • pinch A Saffron
  • 0.08 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 0.08 cup Sugar
  • 66.67 gram seviyan

Directions: Sheer Khurma Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a pan take 1.5 tbsp ghee and add dry fruits in it.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 roast them for a while and then add milk, saffron, cardamom powder and sugar in it.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 cook it till the milk reduces to half.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 in another pan heat 1.5 tbsp clarified butter and add seviyan in it.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 roast it for 2-3 minutes at medium flame.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 add the reduced milk to the pan and cook for 8-10 minutes.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 take it out in a bowl and garnish with some dry fruits and your sheer khurma is ready to serve.
