Ingredients for Shahi Tukda Recipe

  • 1.50 cup Full fat milk
  • 1/2 cup Condensed milk
  • 2 Bread slices
  • 3-4 Cardamoms
  • 2 teaspoon Ghee
  • As required Sugar
  • As required Saffron few strands
  • As required Cashews, almonds, raisins
  • As required Edible silver leaf

step 1

  • STEP 1.Take a pan to add 1 ½ cups of full-fat milk(malai). On high flame cook it for at least 10-12mins and keep stirring occasionally.

  • STEP 2.In another pan, we will add 2tsp ghee. Now we will add some cashews and almonds and let them roast.

step 3

  • STEP 3.Once the cashews start changing color we are going to add the raisins as well and keep stirring it. We will cook this until the raisins puff up.

  • STEP 4.Take out the nuts and raisins from the pan. And with the remaining ghee, we are going to add the bread slices.

  • STEP 5.Toast the bread from both sides. Before flipping, we are going to pour ½ tsp of ghee on the other side. Flip it over and let it toast.

  • STEP 6.Keep stirring the milk, now add a few strands of saffron.

  • STEP 7.Add the condensed milk now and give it a good stir. Let it boil for another 5mins.

  • STEP 8.The bread has been toasted. Toast the other bread in the same process.

  • STEP 9.Once the milk comes to a boil now we have to keep stirring it now and then to prevent it from burning.

  • STEP 10.We have to cook this for more than 15mins now.

  • STEP 11.Meanwhile, after 12-13mins crush the cardamom and add it to the rabri now.

  • STEP 12.Turn off the flame now, your kitchen is going to smell divine.

  • STEP 13.Cut the toasted bread diagonally. Design then on the plate one by one. Add in the roasted nuts(cashews, almonds, and raisins).

  • STEP 14.Next, pour the rabri on top of each bread and garnish it with saffron and edible silver paper.
