A japanese recipe of Japanese hot pot dish, Nabemono, with paper-thin sliced beef.Shabu Shabu is a popular Japanese-style hot pot where the meat and assorted vegetables are cooked in a flavorful broth called kombu dashi. Everyone at the table takes part in the cooking and enjoys the ingredients with different dipping sauces. It’s intimate yet casual, and a whole lot of fun!

Ingredients for Shabu Shabu Recipe

  • 10 cm Kombu
  • 1500 milliliter Water
  • 3 tablespoon Sake
  • 300 gram beef, sliced very thinly
  • 6 leaves nappa cabbage
  • 3 white long onions
  • 6 Shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/2 bunch Kikuna or Shungiku
  • As required Shabu Shabu dipping sauce
  • 4 tablespoon ground sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Miso Paste
  • 2 tablespoon Water

Directions: Shabu Shabu Recipe

  • STEP 1.For dipping sauce , mix all the ingredients in a bowl and set aside
  • STEP 2.Soak the kombu for 15mins
  • STEP 3.Cut the meat and other vegetables
  • STEP 4.Heat water in a pot on medium heat
  • STEP 5.Boil the meat in the water to prepare broth
  • STEP 6.Cook the meat until it turns pink
  • STEP 7.Cook the chicken and vegetables as you eat , the serve
