Ingredients for Sesame Shirmp Toast Recipe

  • 75 gram Fresh shrimp peeled and cleaned and finely minced
  • 0.17 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 0.33 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 0.08 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.17 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1/2 garlic minced cloves
  • As required white pepper powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 0.08 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.33 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.17 No.s Egg white
  • 8.33 gram bamboo shoot
  • 8.33 gram Carrot
  • 0.33 scallion diced
  • 0.17 bunch Coriander
  • 1.33 No.s White bread slices
  • As required Sesame
  • As required Oil For Frying

Directions: Sesame Shirmp Toast Recipe

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Mince 1 lb fresh shrimp using a knife or in the food processor. Keep aside.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add 1lb minced fresh shrimp. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tsp oyster sauce, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp grated ginger , 3 cloves minced garlic, white pepper powder to taste, 1 ½ tbsp cornstarch, ½ tsp paprika, 2 tsp sesame oil, 1 egg white for moisture and binding. Mix all the ingredients till well combined.
  • STEP 2.Keep string in one direction till all the liquid is absorbed and the shrimp meat becomes sticky. Cover with plastic film and place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Dice 2 oz of tender bamboo shoot. This gives a crunch to the dish.
  • STEP 4.Finely dice 2 oz of carrots.
  • STEP 5.Finely dice a small bunch of coriander and 2 stalks of scallion.
  • STEP 6.After 20 minutes take the shrimp mixture out of the fridge and add 2 oz diced bamboo shoot, 2 oz diced carrot, 2 diced scallion, small bunch of coriander diced. Mix together to combine well.
  • STEP 7.Apply the shrimp generously on 8 slices of white bread. (This recipe is sufficient for 8 slices).
  • STEP 8.Evenly sprinkle sesame seeds over the entire slice.Gently press the seeds down onto the shrimp topping with a spatula so that they do not fall off when frying..
  • STEP 9.Heat a heavy bottomed cast iron pan and add 2 tsp oil. When the oil is hot, place the bread, shrimp side down onto the hot pan.
  • STEP 10. Fry for 3 minutes on low heat till the shrimp is golden brown. Then flip it over and continue to cook on low heat till the bread toasts slowly and turns golden brown.
  • STEP 11. Serve as breakfast with sausage and fried egg.

Special Comments

  • STEP 1.If bamboo shoot is not available, cabbage ,water chestnut or lotus root can be used instead.
  • STEP 2.For keto diet, Eggplant slices or shiitake mushroom can be used to replace the toast.
