Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak tamarind in warm water and extract the pulp.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, add tamarind pulp, chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, and water.
  • STEP 3.Boil the mixture until the tomatoes are cooked and the flavors are well blended.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 5.Add the tempering to the rasam and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and papad.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add a pinch of asafoetida for additional flavor.
