Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine makka cholam flour, jowar flour, chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, coriander leaves, and salt.
  • STEP 2.Add water gradually and mix well to form a thick batter. Let the batter rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Heat a paniyaram pan and add a few drops of oil in each cavity. Pour a spoonful of batter into each cavity.
  • STEP 4.Cover the pan and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom side turns golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Flip the paniyarams using a skewer or spoon and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Remove the cooked paniyarams from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  • STEP 7.Serve the Schezwan Makka Cholam/Jowar Kuzhi Paniyaram hot with Schezwan sauce or chutney of your choice.
