Delicious Tea time snack. It is similar to uzhunnu vada but it is made from from maida. The batter is prepared from sliced onions, ginger, curry leaves and seasoning ingredients.
STEP 1.Take a sieve and a bowl. Place the sieve on the bowl and sieve 1cup all purpose flour, ¼ tsp baking soda and salt to taste.
STEP 2.Take another bowl and add chopped onion, 2-3 chopped green chillies, 1tsp grated ginger and chopped curry leaves. Mix well. Add ½ cup water and gradually add the sieved flour. Mix it well.
STEP 3.Add 1tsp oil and mix well.
STEP 4.Take an airtight container and keep the dough in it. Cover it and let it rest for 2hrs.
STEP 5.Heat oil in a kadai.
STEP 6.Take a bowl with water and dip your hands in water. Then take a small portion of the dough. Using your thumb, make a hole in the middle of the dough. Carefully put it to the oil and fry it in medium flame.
STEP 7.Turn it after 2 minutes. Fry it until both sides become golden brown in colour.
STEP 8.Repeat step 6-7 for the rest of the dough.
