#Mom My mother's favourite recipe is Saunth pakodi (dumplings) chaat. This Chaat is a savoury snacks of family. You can enjoy it anytime and it's very tasty, healthy and delicious. It is also very rich of protein and calcium. The main Includes elements in this recipe is - moongdal, Chilled hung curd, and sweet imali chutney. Saunth pakodi chat is an Indian chaat dish that is made from moongdal and it is served with hung curd, sweet imali chutney and garnished with red chilli powder and roasted cumin powder. Saunth pakodi chaat origins in Uttar Pradesh of India, now a days it is very popular dish in the Northern states of India and Delhi. can be served as a side dish or snacks.

Ingredients for Saunth pakodi (dumplings) chaat Recipe

  • 1/4 cup moong dal washed
  • 1/2 tbsp urad dal washed
  • 1/2 cups hung curd
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder roasted
  • 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
  • as required Saunth (sweet tamarind chutney) salt
  • As Required Oil for frying
  • as required Lukewarm water
  • 1/4 tsp salt to put in water

Directions: Saunth Pakodi (dumplings) Chaat Recipe

  • STEP 1.Mix moong dal and urad dal, wash and soak them in water for 1 hour.
  • STEP 2.Then take out the water from the lentils and grind them finely in a mixer, and beat them with hands for 10 -12 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Now heat oil in a pan, and fry the pakodi (dumplings) on high to medium flame, and add salt to lukewarm water and mix it well.
  • STEP 4.Now put the fried pakodi (dumplings) in hot water, and keep covered for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 5.To prepare Chaat -  Now take out the pakodi (dumplings) from the water and squeeze out all their water, then add 2 teaspoons of sugar in the hung curd and whippe it. curd.
  • STEP 6.Now place the squeezed pakodi (dumplings) in a plate, then add whipped curd, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and saunth (sweet imali chutney) on top of it, saunth pakodi/dumplings chaat is ready. Enjoy this recipe.
