Ingredients for Sanna Karapusa Recipe

  • 175 gram Gram Flour
  • 37.50 gram Butter
  • 50 gram Rice flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/2 pinch Hing
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • As required Salt
  • As required Oil For Frying
  • 1/4 liter water for kneading

Directions: Sanna Karapusa Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add gram flour, butter, rice flour, carom powder, cumin powder, hing, salt, red chili powder, mix everything together.
  • STEP 2.Add water in small quantities to make a soft dough.
  • STEP 3.Once the dough is prepared let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • STEP 4.Heat a wide heavy bottomed vessel with enough oil for deep frying.
  • STEP 5.Take the murukku press and use the disc with the smallest holes. Fill half of the press with the dough.
  • STEP 6.Once the oil is hot press the murukku press to make concentric layers of the dough.
  • STEP 7.Fry until the dough appears golden in color from both sides.
  • STEP 8.Now take out the karapusa from the pan and remove excess oil.
  • STEP 9.Serve in a bowl and enjoy.
