  • 1/4 cup Rice
  • 0.13 cup Toor Dal
  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/4 Tomato, Chopped
  • 1/4 Carrot, Chopped
  • 1/4 Drumstick, Chopped
  • 0.13 cup Tamarind Extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon Sambar Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • as required A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 Dried Red Chilies
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ghee
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook rice, lentils, and vegetables with tamarind extract and sambar powder.
  • STEP 3.Temper mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies in ghee and add to the cooked rice mixture.
  • STEP 4.Serve hot with papad or raita.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add any vegetables of your choice like carrots, beans, drumsticks, etc.
  • Adjust the quantity of sambar powder according to your taste preference.
  • You can garnish with coriander leaves for added flavor.
