  • 1/2 cup Tuvar Dal
  • As required Salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
  • As required For Vegetables

  • 1/2 cup Eggplant
  • 1/2 cup Carrot

How to Make Sambar Recipe

STEP 01

1 - wash the dal and pressure cook it with 2 cups of salt water and turmeric.

STEP 02

2 - cook it for 1 whistle at high flame and then reduce the flame and cook for another 8 minutes.

STEP 03

3 - once the dal gets cooked, add tamarind paste to it and mix well.

STEP 04

4 - in a pan add your vegetables, water, salt and turmeric.

STEP 05

5 - cover and cook until the vegetables bcom soft.

STEP 06

6 - heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves and dry red chilli.

STEP 07

7 - after a few seconds add onions to the pan and cook until they turn translucent.

STEP 08

8 - add chopped tomatoes and cook it for 5 minutes.

STEP 09

9 - add masala and cooked dal to the pan and cook for 10-12 minutes at medium flame.
