  • 1/4 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1/4 tablespoon Coriander Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1.13 piece Kokum
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat oil and add chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 3.Add chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.In a blender, grind coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and tamarind paste to make a smooth paste.
  • STEP 5.Add the ground paste to the pan and mix well. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Add water, salt, and kokum. Cover and cook until the chicken is tender.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or bread.

Cooking Tips

  • Marinating the chicken with yogurt and spices for 30 minutes before cooking can enhance the flavor.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • If kokum is not available, you can substitute it with tamarind pulp.
