Sabudana tikki is a North Indian style recipe and Sabudana Vada is a delicacy from the Maharashtrian cuisine. Sabudana tikki are thin pan-fried patties made with tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes and spices. Also known as sabudana cutlet, This recipe is suitable for Hindu fasting days like Ekadashi, Navratri, Mahashivratri or Chaturthi.

Ingredients for Sabudana tikki Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Sabudana
  • 1 Pieces Potato boiled & mashed
  • NaN cup Peanut roasted n crushed
  • 1.50 g reen chilli paste
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder
  • As Required For Ganishing Some coriander leaves
  • As Required Oil for frying

Directions: Sabudana Tikki Recipe

  • STEP 1.Rinse 1cup sabudana well until the water turns clear.
  • STEP 2.Soak it in ¾ cup water overnight or for 4-6 hours.
  • STEP 3.After soaking time, the sabudana would have absorbed all water. It should be soft, press with a finger to check, it should crush easily. Drain sabudana and allow it to dry for 15 minutes.
  • STEP 4.Now, in a mixing bowl add soaked sabudana, along with boiled potatoes, roasted peanuts, green chili paste, salt, black pepper powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder, and coriander leaves.
  • STEP 5.Mix well.
  • STEP 6.Divide the mixture into equal parts, flatten them a bit, and make them round tikki shape.
  • STEP 7.Heat oil in pan, add tikki in it, and fry it on medium heat until golden brown and crispy from both sides.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with tamrid chutney aur sauce
