A recipe of cake with cream originating from Mexico. Rosca De Reyes is a sweet baked dish made with yeast, sugar, flour, milk, eggs, orange zest and oil. This dish can be served as an evening snack with tea ir can be eaten alon.
As required Maraschino cherries red and green if available
Directions: Rosca De Reyes Recipe
STEP 1.In a container mix the yeast with sugar ,flour and warm milk ,set aside
STEP 2.In a large mixer add the flour, sugar,salt and mix together then add the eggs , eggs yolks , and orange zest , mix slowly
STEP 3.Add the butter slowly, add in the yeast and mix well
STEP 4.Flour the surface and add the dough. Work on it for about 20 minutes
STEP 5.Butter a bowl and keep the dough in the bowl, cover and let rest for about 1 and 1/2 hour,
STEP 6.Take it out add flour and roll out like a long baguette, make the dough in oval shape cut and set aside.
STEP 7.Make a sugar topping by combining the powdered sugar ,butter, flour , cinnamon and vanilla and mix it well
STEP 8.Make the egg wash by mixing an egg with water and brush it all ober the dough.
STEP 9.Add the sugar toppings. Heat an oven for 350 degress. Uncover and bake it for about 30 minutes.
