A traditional middle eastern dip made from pureed chickpeas and flavoured with roasted red bell pepper, garlic and olive oil. Easy roasted red pepper hummus recipe with sweet red bell peppers, chickpeas, garlic, and tahini. This recipe is simple to make and makes hummus that’s so much better than store-bought. It only takes 10 minutes to roast the peppers.

Ingredients for Roasted Red Pepper Humus Recipe

  • 1 Red bell pepper chopped fine Nos
  • 200 gram Cooked Chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup Liquid from chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoon Tahini
  • 2-4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 1 Juice of lemon
  • bunch A parsley chopped

Directions: Roasted Red Pepper Humus Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat a heavy bottom pan and add 1 tsp oil. Then add 1 large red pepper chop fine. Saute on low to medium heat till the pepper is roasted and tender. Roast for 3 to 4 minutes till peppers get brown spots. Turn off the hat and keep aside.

step 2

  • STEP 1.In a food processor add 200 gm cooked chickpeas, salt to taste, roasted bell pepper and 2 to 4 cloves garlic. Blend on low speed till all the ingredients are well blended.

  • STEP 1.Once coarsely ground, add /14 cup olive oil and a little water and continue to blend till smooth. Finally open the blender again, and add 2 tbsp tahini. Close the blender and continue to blend till well combined.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Transfer the hummus into a serving bowl and sprinkle ½ tsp roasted cumin powder, a small bunch of chopped parsley and squeeze the juice of 1 lemon. Mix well.

  • STEP 1.Lastly garnish with cumin powder, paprika powder, chopped parsley leaves and drizzle olive oil over the top.
