Ingredients for Rice Vada Recipe

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/4 cup Puttu Podi or Rava
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Water
  • As required Salt
  • 4 No.s Green chilli
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • As required Curry Leaves A few
  • As required Coriander leaves A few
  • 2 pinch Asafoetida powder
  • 2 pinch Cumin Powder
  • As required Oil to fry

Directions: Rice Vada Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 take a bowl and add 1cup rice flour,¼ cup puttu podi or rave, salt to taste, 1 cup buttermilk and 1 cup water. Mix well.

  • STEP 2.2 heat kadai in a medium flame, add the prepared mix and stir continuously. When we get a thick paste, turn off the flame. Let it cool down to manageable heat.

  • STEP 3.3 add chopped curry leaves,1tsp chopped ginger, 3 chopped green chillies, chopped onion, 2 pinch cumin powder and 2pinch asafoetida. Mix well.

  • STEP 4.4 heat oil in a kadai.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 take a bowl with water and dip your hands in water. Then take a small portion of the mixture. Using your finger, make a hole in the middle. Keep it in a greased plate(greased with oil).

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 carefully put the vadas into the oil and fry it in medium flame.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 turn it after 2 minutes. Fry it until both sides become golden brown in colour.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 repeat step 6-7 for the rest of the mixture.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 rice vada is ready to be served.
