  • STEP 1.Wash the rice and lentils together and soak them for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat ghee and add cumin seeds.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, ginger, and garlic. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Add the soaked rice and lentils along with water. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 6.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
