  • 1/4 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 cup Mixed Vegetables, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon Stick

  • 0.63 Damom Pods
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 cup Water

Directions: Karnataka Style Veg Pulao Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and saute until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add the mixed vegetables, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Add the soaked rice and water. Close the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles.
  • STEP 6.Let the pressure release naturally. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot with raita or yogurt.
