Ingredients for Rava upma. Recipe

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 0.38 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tsp Chana dal
  • 1/2 Kg piece dried red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Peanuts
  • 1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp chilli (slit)
  • 0.13 cup Carrot (finely chopped)
  • 0.13 cup Capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 2.50 g beans (chopped)
  • 1.50 tbsp Peas
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1.50 cup water
  • 1/2 cup rava / semolina (coarse)
  • 1/2 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice

Directions: Rava Upma. Recipe

  • STEP 1.firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil. splutter mustard, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp urad dal, 1 tsp chana dal, 1 dried red chilli and few curry leaves.
  • STEP 2.add 2 tbsp peanuts and fry until it turns crunchy.
  • STEP 3.further add onion, 2 chilli and saute until the onions soften slightly.
  • STEP 4.additionally, add carrot, capsicum, beans, 3 peas and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 5.now add turmeric and 1 tsp salt. saute on low flame until the spices turn aromatic.
  • STEP 6.further, add 3 cup of water and get the water to a rolling boil.
  • STEP 7.now keep stirring in one hand and add 1 cup rava slowly.
  • STEP 8.make sure to keep stirring to prevent lump formation.
  • STEP 9.cover and simmer for 2 minutes or until the rava absorb all the water.
  • STEP 10.add 1 tsp ghee and 2 tbsp coriander. mix well.
  • STEP 11.finally, enjoy vegetable uppittu with coconut chutney.
