  • 1/4 teaspoon Urad Dal

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix semolina, yogurt, and water to make a thick batter.
  • STEP 2.Add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, and cashews to a pan and sauté until golden.
  • STEP 3.Add the tempering to the batter and mix well.
  • STEP 4.Grease the idli molds and steam the idlis for 10-12 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is thick but pourable. Adjust the water accordingly.
  • You can add grated carrots or chopped vegetables to the batter for added flavor and nutrition.
