Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Boil and mash the potatoes. Add cumin, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and chopped coriander leaves to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  • STEP 2.In a separate bowl, mix rice flour, water, and salt to make a smooth dough.
  • STEP 3.Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center and fold the dough to seal the filling. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  • STEP 4.Heat oil in a deep pan and deep-fry the dumplings until golden and crispy.
  • STEP 5.Serve hot with tamarind chutney.

  • Ranga Alur Puli is best served hot and crispy.
  • You can store the leftover dumplings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
