Ingredients for Rajma with Saag Recipe

  • 1 cup Rajma (Large Kidney Beans)
  • As required Boiled
  • 2 cups Spinach Leaves (Palak)
  • As required Roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 nos Onion
  • As required finely chopped
  • 5 nos Garlic
  • As required Cloves
  • As required finely chopped
  • 1 nos green chilli
  • As required finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • As required asafoetida (hing)
  • As required A pinch

Directions: Rajma With Saag Recipe

  • STEP 1.To begin making Rajma Saagwala recipe, pressure cook the overnight soaked rajma for two whistles in a pressure cooker and keep it aside.
  • STEP 2.Now heat a cooker in medium flame,, add the cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida and let it crackle.
  • STEP 3.Add the finely chopped garlic and sauté till aromatic.
  • STEP 4.Add the finely chopped onion and green chilli and cook till the onions become translucent.
  • STEP 5.Add the roughly chopped spinach and cooked rajma and give it a stir.
  • STEP 6.Now add the turmeric, garam masala powder and season with salt and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Let the vegetable cook in medium flame for 10 minutes, occasionally keep stirring in between.
  • STEP 8.Mix well ,Once done, switch off the flame and it is ready to be served. Serve Rajma Saagwala.
