Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the moong dal for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the dal with water, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and chopped onions. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, and spices. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 5.Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
