A traditional Rajasthani and Gujarati sweet dish. The main ingredients of this recipe are broken porridge and jaggery. Lapsi is often prepared during Durga puja or Ganesh puja.

Ingredients for Rajasthani Lapsi Recipe

  • 3 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 cup Broken wheat
  • 3 cup Water
  • A Few saffron strands/kesar
  • 1 cup Jaggery
  • 1 cup Coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Cardamom seeds
  • 2 No.s Almonds
  • A Few choppedRaisins
  • A Few Mixed dry fruits like almonds or cashewnuts

Directions: Rajasthani Lapsi Recipe

  • STEP 1. Take 3 tablespoons of ghee in a pan, add a cup of broken wheat (daliya)  in it. Roast at medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 2.When the colour changes add 3 cupa of  water and 10 saffron strings in the pan.
  • STEP 3.Cover the lid and wait for 5 whistles. It will be cooked well.
  • STEP 4.Add a cup of jaggery pieces,  mic well till jaggery melts, add 2 almonds,  a cup of desiccated coconut, some cardamom seeds and let it cook at low flame for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Mix well before serving. The fada lapsi is ready.  garnish with some nuts and raisins.
