A puri is a Indian variant of Indaina flatbread made with whole wheat and deep fried in some hot oil. The purri dough is very easy to make and can be easily prepared by combining water, flour and some oil and kneading it well. Try out this quick, asy and simple recipe fo linch or dinner and serve it with chana, stir fried potatoes or raita.

Ingredients for Puri Recipe Recipe

  • 2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon oil for dough
  • As required Oil for deep frying

Directions: Puri Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Add 2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp oil and a little water into a big bowl and knead a soft dough out of it.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Drizzle some oil over the dough and knead again for a few seconds till the dough is smooth and then divide the dough into lemon sized portions.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Grease a flat surface and press the ball of dough. Roll out into a 2 ½ to 3 inch diameter circle.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai and slide the puri into the hot oil, flip and fry puri on both sides till golden brown.
