Puran Poli tear & share bread recipe is a Puran Poli with a modern twist by a fresh bread baked with Puran filling and caramel sauce on top. A perfect fusion of the western and desi culture and a pure delight to have.Puran Poli is a flatbread stuffed with sweet lentil filling and is commonly made during the Indian festivals like Holi and Ganesh Chaturthi. Its best served with generous dollop of ghee and milk on side to dip.

Ingredients for Puran Poli Tear & Share Bread Recipe

  • As required Dough
  • 1 teaspoon Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 cube Butter
  • 1 cup Maida
  • 1/2 lt Warm Milk
  • As required Filling
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Moong Daal
  • 1 tablespoon Jaggery
  • 1/2 teaspoon Elaichi Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Caramel Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • As required Fresh Cream

Directions: Puran Poli Tear & Share Bread Recipe

  • STEP 1.Dough

  • STEP 2.Take a bowl add 2 cups of maida, add 1 cube butter, mix the butter with the maida gently.

  • STEP 3.Then in a different small bowl take 1tbsp yeast and 1tbsp sugar, add water accordingly and mix them well.

  • STEP 4.Add the slurry to the dough and knead it. Add ½ cup warm milk (you can add more if needed).

  • STEP 5.Keep kneading the dough until tight.

  • STEP 7.In a kadai, add a decent amount of ghee, then add the cooked moong dal and keep stirring it. Your kitchen is going to smell heavenly.

  • STEP 8.Add the jaggery a per your need and keep stirring it.

  • STEP 9.Once the jaggery melts and the moong dal tightens add the cardamom powder

  • STEP 10.Caramel sauce

  • STEP 11.Take a saucepan, add ½ cup water and add ½ cup sugar, keep stirring them.

  • STEP 12.Once the sugar melts, add 1 cube butter so that it doesn’t get burnt.

  • STEP 13.Melt the butter and lastly add the fresh cream give it a good stir.

  • STEP 14.Take a small amount of dough, make a hole in the middle and add 2tbsp moong dal filling and start assembling the outer side and make a round shape.

  • STEP 15.Do the same for the rest of the remaining.

  • STEP 16.Take an oven tray to add the circle dough and top it with the caramelized sauce.

  • STEP 17.Put the tray in the oven/microwave (better at oven)

  • STEP 18.At 180 degrees let it bake for 40mins and your puran poli tear and share bread is ready.

  • STEP 19.Serve it hot.
