  • STEP 1.Wash and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
  • STEP 2.Heat ghee or oil in a large pan and add whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Saute for a minute until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped vegetables like carrots, peas, and bell peppers. Cook for a few minutes until they are slightly tender.
  • STEP 5.Add the soaked rice to the pan and mix well with the vegetables. Add water, salt, and any additional spices like turmeric or garam masala.
