Ingredients for punjabi Chholey Recipe

  • 0.67 Cups White chickpeas
  • 0.67 Pieces tomatoes (chopped)
  • 0.67 Pieces onion
  • 1.33 Pieces garlic pods
  • 0.67 Pieces reen Chilies chopped
  • 0.67 Tbsp mustard oil
  • To Taste Salt
  • 0.17 Tsp turmeric piwder
  • 1/2 Tsp red chilli poder
  • 1/2 Tsp Coriander powder
  • 0.33 Tbsp Coriander leaves

Directions: Punjabi Chholey Recipe

  • STEP 1.Soak chana overnight
  • STEP 2.Boil Chana along with salt on Low Heat for 20-25 minutes
  • STEP 3.Now for tempering take the Pan first and put Oil in the Pan.
  • STEP 4.When oil is ready Add Cumin seeds.
  • STEP 5.When Cumin Seeds splutter, add minced Garlic and Ginger Paste.
  • STEP 6.Add chopped Onions and add a pinch of Salt and fry till they turn slightly brown
  • STEP 7.Now add the Masalas and fry for some time till they get roasted.
  • STEP 8.Add Pureed tomatoes and fry till the oil leaves from the sides.
  • STEP 9.Add chopped Green Chilies.
  • STEP 10.By now the pressure would have released and strain Chole reserving the water for adding later.
  • STEP 11.Mix them well in the masala so that they get coated nicely
  • STEP 12.Cook on low flame for 5-6 minutes
  • STEP 13.Keep stirring but
  • STEP 14.Add the same reserved and stir nicely
  • STEP 15.Cook the Chole with gravy for 8-12 min more till gravy thickens a bit.
  • STEP 16.Adjust the consistency of gravy by adding more water if needed
  • STEP 17.Garnish with Coriander Leaves
  • STEP 18.These chhole taste awesome with zeera rice
  • STEP 19.But can be
  • STEP 20.Served with Puris, Parathas or Chapatis
