Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini: A Cosy Cocktail For Autumn Nights Recipe

Recipe By Slurrp Editorial
The espresso martini has never needed much convincing, but add pumpkin spice to the equation and suddenly it feels made for crisp evenings and cosy dinner parties. This pumpkin spice espresso martini combines freshly brewed espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur with pumpkin purée and warming spices for a cocktail that is rich, aromatic and unmistakably seasonal. The key is keeping the pumpkin subtle enough for the coffee to remain the star. A little cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger bring warmth, while a touch of pumpkin purée gives the drink its creamy texture and autumnal character. Shake it vigorously over ice for that signature frothy top, then serve it in a chilled martini glass.

Ingredients for Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini: A Cosy Cocktail For Autumn Nights Recipe

  • 45 ml Vodka
  • 30 ml Freshly brewed espresso
  • As required Cooled
  • 20 ml Coffee liqueur
  • 15 ml Pumpkin purée
  • 10 ml Maple syrup
  • As required ¼ tsp pumpkin spice blend

  • As required ice cubes
  • As required Pumpkin spice blend
  • 3 nos Coffee beans
  • As required Orange peel
  • As required Optional

Directions: Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini: A Cosy Cocktail For Autumn Nights Recipe

  • STEP 1.Brew a fresh shot of espresso and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Fresh espresso gives the cocktail a richer coffee flavour and helps create its characteristic foam.
  • STEP 2.Add vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, pumpkin purée, maple syrup, pumpkin spice and a small pinch of salt to a cocktail shaker.
  • STEP 3.Fill the shaker generously with ice. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds. The hard shake is important for creating the light, creamy foam that sits on top of a good espresso martini.
  • STEP 4.Strain the cocktail through a fine sieve into a chilled martini or coupe glass. Double straining helps create a smoother drink by removing any small pieces of pumpkin or spice.
  • STEP 5.Dust a tiny amount of pumpkin spice over the foam and finish with three coffee beans. Add a thin strip of orange peel if you want a subtle citrus aroma.
  • STEP 6.Serve immediately while the cocktail is cold and the espresso foam is still intact.
