Ingredients for Puliyodharai Recipe

  • 1/2 Tsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 Tsp Chana dal
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin seeds
  • 0.13 Tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 0.13 Tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sesame seeds
  • 0.13 Cup dry coconut
  • 3 Pieces Dried red chilies
  • A Few Few curry leaves
  • 1 Cup Boiled rice
  • 1/4 Cup Tamarind paste
  • 1 Tbsp Jaggery
  • 1/2 Tsp Red chilli
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric
  • 1.50 Tbsp puliyodharai masala
  • To Taste Salt
  • 0.13 Cup Grated coconut
  • 0.13 Cup Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 Tsp Chana dal
  • 0.13 Cup Peanuts
  • 1 Pieces red chilies
  • 0.13 Tsp Asafoetida
  • A Few Fer curry leaves

Directions: Puliyodharai Recipe

  • STEP 1.Method:
  • STEP 2.For masala :
  • STEP 3.Dry roast sesame seeds and keep it aside. Then add oil, coriander seeds, chana dal, urad dal, Fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper and roast it on low flame for 2 minutes. Add red chilli, curry leaves and coconut and roast it for 1 minute. Let it cool and add sesame seeds, now grind it to a Powder.
  • STEP 4.For puliyodharai:
  • STEP 5.In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, peanuts, asafoetida, curry leaves and red chilli. Add tamarind paste, jaggery, red chilli powder, puliyodharai masala, turmeric and cook it till it becomes thick. Add cooked rice, salt and coconut and mix it well.
