Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine puffed rice, rice flour, semolina, yogurt, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Add water gradually to the batter to achieve a pouring consistency. Let the batter rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle over medium heat. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
  • STEP 4.Drizzle some oil around the edges of the dosa and cook until the bottom turns golden brown. Flip the dosa and cook the other side until crispy.
  • STEP 5.Remove the dosa from the tawa and serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
  • STEP 6.Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more dosas.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the batter is of pouring consistency to get thin and crispy dosas.
  • You can add finely chopped onions, green chilies, and coriander leaves to the batter for added flavor.
  • Serve the dosas immediately after cooking to enjoy their crispiness.

Storage and Serving

  • Puffed Rice Dosas are best served hot and fresh.
  • If you have leftover dosas, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • To reheat the dosas, heat a tawa or griddle and place the dosas on it. Cook on low heat until heated through.
