  • 1/4 Nos Small Red Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 Nos Bell Pepper, Finely Chopped
  • 3/4 Nos Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1/4 Nos Can Of Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp - dried oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp ▢Ground Cumin (Jeera powder)
  • As required - Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 Nos Lasagna Noodles, Cooked And Drained
  • 1/2 Cup Whipped Ricotta Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded mozzarella cheese -
  • 1/4 Cup Additional Parmesan Cheese For Topping

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
  • STEP 2.Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld.
  • STEP 3.In a baking dish, layer cooked lasagna noodles, a portion of the meat sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
  • STEP 4.Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add a Puerto Rican twist to the dish by incorporating achiote seasoning or adobo seasoning into the meat sauce for an authentic flavour profile.
