Ingredients for Potato Salad Recipe

  • 5 whole potatoes
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 stalk Spring onions
  • 1 tablespoon Kasundi or any mustard will work
  • 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar / or any other vinegar
  • As required Mayo as per need
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • As required Black pepper
  • As required Mint leaves
  • As required Coriander leaves
  • As required Lemon juice
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 3-3 Green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • As required Salt
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil

Directions: Potato Salad Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Boil the whole potatoes in a saucepan, cover it with a lid and let it cook.

  • STEP 2.For the dressing we will start with green chutney- first, we will add a handful of mint leaves, a handful of coriander leaves, 2-3 green chili, 3-4 garlic cloves, ½ diced onions, 1tbsp sugar, and lemon juice.

  • STEP 3.Grind all the ingredients well in a grinder, add a little amount of water to make a fine paste.

  • STEP 4.Once it has a paste texture to keep up with the green color we will add 2-3 cubes of ice.

  • STEP 5.The potatoes are boiled now we will peel off the skin and dice them roughly.

  • STEP 6.Sprinkle some red chili powder for the coating. Toss the potatoes so the red chili powder is coated well with all the pieces.

  • STEP 7.Meanwhile, take a tawa and heat it.

  • STEP 8.Add 2tbsp oil and let the potatoes hop in. Toss the potatoes to get a nice coat.

  • STEP 9.Once it is done, turn off the gas.

  • STEP 10.Now we made the green chutney beforehand so for the dressing we will take a small bowl so that everything assembles.

  • STEP 11.Start by adding a spoonful of kasundi, 1tbsp mayo, 1tbsp green chutney(made earlier), sprinkle some red chili powder, black pepper, salt to taste, a few drops of apple cider vinegar (or any vinegar will work).

  • STEP 12.Now mix all of them thoroughly.

  • STEP 13.Now this dressing will go onto the potatoes.

  • STEP 14.And mix them gently with the potatoes without breaking them. Toss the potatoes so that it gets an even layer from all sides.

  • STEP 15.For garnishing it we will add some spring onions and long slices of onion for the extra crunch.

  • STEP 16.Add the warm potatoes and your salad is ready.
