Potato Salad Recipe

Recipe By Slurrp

Potato salad is one of the most delicious and easy to make dishes. Potato Salad has a silky mayonnaise dressing and is somewhat sweet and tangy. The crunchiness of the onions and celery complements the smoothness of the nicely boiled potatoes. A handmade egg-free mayonnaise dressing is included in this vegetarian dish. Simply make the dressing using Vegan Mayonnaise for a vegan variation. Both mayonnaise and sour cream taste well with potatoes. This salad is delicious as a main course or as a side dish to a major course. Pickles or pickle relish are usually added to a traditional American potato salad. Cucumbers (gherkins) are pickled in brine or vinegar to make these pickles. The pickle gives the dish a sour, salty, and umami (savoury) flavour. For many cookouts, potato salad has been a staple. It was brought to Europe by Spanish adventurers from the New World in the 16th century. Early potato salads were produced by boiling potatoes in wine or a vinegar-spice mixture.
