Pork floss buns easy to make recipe these buns are a grab-and-go street food in China. They were also popular in our Test Kitchens, where they earned our highest rating. Use a multitray bamboo steamer so you can cook all the buns at one time. To make them up to two months ahead, fill the dough, and freeze unsteamed buns on a tray in the freezer before placing them in a freezer-safe zip-top plastic bag. Steam directly from the freezer for an additional five minutes. This Chinese recipe is proof you don't have to get takeout to enjoy the fine cuisine.

Ingredients for Pork Bun Recipe

  • 350 gram bread flour
  • 150 gram low gluten flour
  • 5 gram dry yeast
  • 75 gram fine sugar
  • 5 gram Salt
  • 25 gram powdered whole milk
  • 50 gram egg
  • 260 gram Water
  • 55 gram Butter

Directions: Pork Bun Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Set the bowl aside to start proofing (this is when the yeast begins to act and will raise the dough).

  • STEP 2.2. After 2 hours remove the dough and evenly divide it into 16 portions. Lay a sheet of plastic wrap loosely over the top and let rest for 15minutes.roll the dough out into an oval shape.

  • STEP 3.3. After it is stretched, begin to roll the dough towards you with your hands.

  • STEP 4.4. Close the end tightly so that it doesn’t unroll whilst baking. Lay them on a baking tray and put it in a warm and humid place for final  at the end of the last proofing, place them in a preheated 180°c oven and bake it for 15 minutes.

  • STEP 5.5. After they are done baking, set aside to cool, and then spread a layer of salad dressing on the top surface.

step 6

  • STEP 6.Then roll the bread gently in the meat floss. Enjoy.
