A sweet and tangy preparation of pork belly slow cooked and flavoured with soy sauce, ginger and garlic. a beloved and popular Filipino dish, is commonly made with chicken or pork that is traditionally braised in vinegar, soy, and garlic. There are many variations to the recipe based on each cook’s individual style and taste preferences. Some add coconut milk, others add spices, some use salt instead of soy sauce.

Ingredients for Pork Adobo And Pineapple Recipe

  • 500 gram Pork Belly
  • 200 gram Pineapple chunks
  • 8 No.s Garlic cloves sliced
  • 1 Ginger sliced cm
  • 2 No.s Onion Sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 3 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Coarse Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon White Vinegar
  • As required Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Pork Adobo And Pineapple Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1.in a mixing bowl place 500 gm pork belly cut into chunks.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2. To this add 8 sliced garlic cloves, 1 cm sliced ginger, 2 sliced onions (optional), 3 bay leaves, 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp coarse black pepper, 1 tbsp white vinegar, juice from tinned pineapple and salt to taste.

  • STEP 3.3. Mix all the ingredients well.

  • STEP 4.4. In a wok heat 2 tbsp oil, add the pork and the rest of the ingredients from the mixing bowl and fry for 5 minutes.

  • STEP 5.5.next add 200 gm pineapple pieces and simmer for 2 minutes, then stir together.

  • STEP 6.6. Add 100 ml water. And bring to a boil.

  • STEP 7.7. Cover with a lid and cook on medium heat for 1 ½ hour until the meat is tender.

  • STEP 8.8. Then remove the lid and stir.

  • STEP 9.9. Take the bay leaves out of the wok and garnish with chopped spring onions.

  • STEP 10.10. Transfer to a dish and serve.
