  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • As required Ghee
  • As required Sugar
  • As required Cardamom powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • As required Cashews

How to Make Poha Nariyal Kheer Recipe

STEP 01

Take 1 cup poha, wash them thoroughly, and keep it aside.

STEP 02

In a kadai take 1tbsp ghee and heat it to roast 12-15 lightly crushed cashews.

STEP 03

Roast the cashews till light golden. Keep it aside.

STEP 04

In a deep vessel add 2tsp ghee followed by 2 bay leaves.

STEP 05

Then add 1 cup water once it comes to a boil add 1tsp cardamom powder, ½ cup sugar.

STEP 06

Dilute the sugar and boil for 2 mins at high flame.

STEP 07

Let the sugar dissolve completely.

STEP 08

Then add ½ ltr milk and stir it gently. Bring it to boil then add 1 ½ cup water and stir it.

STEP 09

Add 1 cup grated coconut and mix it well.

STEP 10

Cook the coconut at high flame. Boil it for 2-3mins

STEP 11

Then add the soaked poha and mix thoroughly.

STEP 12

Cook the poha and coconut at medium flame for 5-10mins.

STEP 13

Stir it from time to time. It should be a semi-thick texture and it’s ready.

STEP 14

Add a few raisins, then turn off the flame and add the roasted cashews. Mix well.

STEP 15

Let it cool a little and serve in a bowl and enjoy your sweet poha.
