Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, soak the poha in water for a few minutes until it softens. Drain the water and set aside.
  • STEP 2.In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked poha, mashed potatoes, chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a dough-like mixture.
  • STEP 3.Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a finger-like shape. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  • STEP 4.Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the poha fingers into the oil and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 5.Remove the fried poha fingers from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • STEP 6.Serve the poha fingers hot with ketchup or chutney. Enjoy!

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to squeeze out any excess water from the soaked poha before adding it to the mixture.
  • You can add finely chopped vegetables like carrots or peas to the mixture for added flavor and nutrition.
  • Adjust the spice levels according to your preference by adding more or less chili powder and green chilies.

Storage and Serving

  • Poha fingers are best served hot and crispy.
  • If you have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
  • To reheat, place the poha fingers in a preheated oven or air fryer for a few minutes until they become crispy again.
