  • STEP 1.Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle and pour a ladleful of batter onto it.
  • STEP 2.Spread the batter in a circular motion to form a thick pancake.
  • STEP 3.Sprinkle finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chilies on top.
  • STEP 4.Drizzle some oil around the edges and cook until the bottom turns golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Flip the uttapam and cook the other side until it is cooked through.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure the tawa or griddle is hot before pouring the batter.
  • You can add grated carrots, capsicum, or any other vegetables of your choice as toppings.
