Ingredients for Pla Neung See Ew Recipe

  • 2 piece dried shiitake mushrooms, rehydrated by soaking in hot water for at least 1 hour
  • 12 ounce white fish of your choice
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely julienned ginger
  • 1/2 cup chicken or pork stock, unsalted
  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper, ground
  • 2 green onions, thinly slice on a bias

step 1

  • STEP 1.Remove soaked golden oak mushrooms from the water and squeeze out excess water. Bring to a halt the stems, then slice the cap into thin slices.

  • STEP 1.Place fish in an exceedingly deep plate and steam over the boiling water till it gets cooked nicely,

  • STEP 1.For preparing the sauce mix stock, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chinese cookery wine, sesame oil, and sugar in a bowl. Heat two tbsp of edible fat in a pan over medium-high heat.

  • STEP 1.Add garlic, ginger, and chinese black mushroom slices and stir for 1-2 minutes till it becomes aromatic. Add the sauce mixture and white pepper to it and let it simmer for 30 seconds.

  • STEP 1.With the fish still in the steamer, tilt the plate to pour off the collected water and carefully pull the bones out.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Pour the sauce over the fish, along with the onions, and cover the steamer with a lid for about thirty seconds in order to steam the onions a bit.
