Pizza Bread Recipe

The Lazy Day Comfort Food You Didn’t Know You Needed

Ever had one of those days where cooking feels like a personal attack? Same. That’s exactly when pizza bread becomes a hero. It’s what I call “the snack that feels like a meal” – crisp, cheesy, wildly satisfying, and ready in under 30 minutes.

I first made this on a rainy college evening with half a loaf of bread, some leftover marinara, and a single cube of cheese that had definitely seen better days. The result? Instant serotonin. And now, it’s my go-to whenever someone says, “I want something nice, but not actual cooking.”

How to Make Pizza Bread at Home (The Lazy Genius Way)

  • STEP 1.Set it at 180°C (350°F). While it heats, prep your slices.
  • STEP 1.Brush each slice with garlic butter for that extra punch. Then spread a generous spoon of pizza sauce.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped veggies (if using). Go light or go wild. Top with a heap of mozzarella. No one’s judging here
  • STEP 3.Place slices on a tray. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese melts and edges crisp up. Watch for that gorgeous golden top – that’s your cue.

Frequently asked questions

How do I store leftover pizza bread without it getting soggy?

Wrap in foil and store in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, use a toaster oven or tawa for that crisp bite. Avoid microwaving unless you love chewy sadness. This is one of my top food storage tips for oven-baked snacks.

Can I make this recipe vegan?

Of course. Use vegan cheese or skip cheese and add flavourful toppings like olives, mushrooms, and spiced tofu. It still qualifies as one of the best easy recipes for plant-based eaters.

The bread is turning too soft. What should I do?

Toast the bread slightly before adding the sauce and toppings. This gives it a firm base and keeps it from getting soggy when baked. You’ll get that perfect texture every time.
