A very delicious dry dish prepared from gram flour .Pitod Ki Sabzi or Besan paneer is basically chickpea flour dumplings in a curd based gravy. The traditional Rajasthani cuisine has many recipes which uses chickpea flour as the main ingredient and Pitod is one of them.

Ingredients for Pitod Ki Sabzi Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Gram flour
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1.50 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.50 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ajwain
  • 3/4 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 tablespoon Edible oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 Green chilli
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 No.s Onion
  • 5-6 No.s Curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Amchoor powder
  • As required Some coriander leaves

Directions: Pitod Ki Sabzi Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Filter gram flour with sieve

  • STEP 2.Now add ¼ tsp turmeric powder,½ tsp red chilli powder.

step 3

  • STEP 3.Add ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp cumin seeds & ¼ tsp ajwain.

step 4

  • STEP 4.Add ¼ tsp asafoetida powder & ¼ tsp garam masala.

  • STEP 5.Now add 1 ¼ cup water little by little & mix well.

  • STEP 6.In a pan add pitod mixture & stir it continuously.

  • STEP 7.Cook it at medium flame for 2-3 mins.

  • STEP 8.Now turn upside down a circular steel plate and spread the cooked pitod mixture.

  • STEP 9.Rest it for 10 mins and then cut it into pieces.

  • STEP 10.1.add oil in a pan & heat it.

  • STEP 11.2.add cumin seeds,mustard seeds and let it crackle.

  • STEP 12.3.now add chopped green chillies and ginger.

  • STEP 13.4.add ½ tsp asafoetida powder and chopped onions

  • STEP 14.5.add curry leaves and saute it.

  • STEP 15.6.then add 1 ½ tsp red chilli powder,¼ tsp turmeric powder & 2 tsp coriander powder.

  • STEP 16.7.add 1 tsp salt,amchoor powder,garam masala and mix well.

step 19

  • STEP 17.8.add pitod,cover and cook for 2 mins.

  • STEP 18.9.sprinkle some fresh coriander leaves.
